This area of the construction market has continued to expand over the last few years as a substantial number of large factory and production sites have closed down in the UK as our grip on the world manufacturing industry continues to decline.

During this time JM Partnership has developed a close working relationship with a number of Architects, Developers and Contractors who specialise in this building sector. Some of our major developers included Arlington Developments, Hawkstone Properties, Highland Developments, La Salle Investment Management, Scottish Widows Investment, Strathclyde Pension Fund, Tyne & Wear Pension Fund and Canmoor Properties.

JM Partnership were one of the first Building Control Bodies to consider a project under BS 9999 (which has now replaced the BS 5588 series), for a 300m long by 150m wide distribution warehouse in Essex. The project involved early discussions with the Fire Service to establish principles and thus give confidence to the design and build team in constructing the building. Established principles for structural design, Fire Safety, Thermal Insulation and Access Requirements have been forged with a number of Design & Build Contractors (including Volker Fitzpatrick, Marbank, Buxtons, Neilcott, Brennans and McLaren) to enable them to tender for projects with a more detailed knowledge of Building Regulation Compliance.
