JM Partnership have extensive experience in dealing with Educational and Student accommodation schemes and, since being granted Approved Inspector status in 1997, the company has been involved with more than 400 school projects.

All surveyors JM Partnership employ have a thorough knowledge of the specific standards that relate to schools, including BB100 The design of Fire Safety in Schools, BB93 Acoustic conditions in schools and BB101 Ventilation requirements for schools. In recent times the company has expanded its skills to advise schools on whether there is a need to introduce sprinklers into new build or extensions to school buildings.

As with other construction sectors, it has been essential to establish a long term working relationship with both Architects and Design & Build Contractors who specialise in school projects. A particular close relationship is with R.Durtnells & Sons Ltd, which is the oldest family run contractor in the country and some of their major projects have included Southwark College, Sevenoaks School, Rowhill School, St Teresa's School, Halliford School, Goldwyn School, Study Group College and St Dominic's Sixth Form College.

Many of the latest schools and academies need the Building Control Body to adopt an understanding of Fire Engineered solutions to enable designers and the end users to have a greater flexibility in their design concepts.
